default margins

I want to change the default margins for each workbook that I create.
That is, I don't want to have to go and change the margins each time I
create a new workbook; I want the workbook to open with those changed
margins. How do I do this? And while we're at it, how can I change
other default aspects of how a new workbook will open? Such as opening
in landscape rather than portrait view. (I know how to change a
single workbook; I want Excel to automatically open new workbooks in
the way I want them so I don't have to go in and make such changes.)

Your best bet is to create a default workbook template. See "Create a
template for workbooks or worksheets" in XL Help.

To summarize: you can set margins, formatting, orientation, number of
sheets in a workbook, etc. Save it in your Startup folder as a template
named Workbook (no extension).
