I know that through options tools file location I can change the location to
what ever I want but that only works on the first file opened per session.
To explain further we have a rather large folder on a network share with
30,000 various files and a large number of user's office documents. So if we
change the default file location to let's say their My Documents folder and
they open word and click on open My Documents opens and that is great. But
if they have to go and work on the network share folder "Attach" with all of
those files it takes almost 3 minutes to open that folder. Then the kicker
is the fact that the next time during the same Word session they click open
even though they may want to go to My Documents it will open that last
folder used to open a file. So if it was "Attach" they have to wait again. I
am looking for any help or direction on things to try to improve or correct
this problem.
