Hi all! Word 2007, Vista Ultimate
My father is pretty much deaf, so he uses the closed captioning on the TV,
but, often there are typos and at times they typist can't keep up with the
dialog, which is especially important when there is live conversation going
on. These situations make it hard for him to keep up with, or even get, all
the conversations. Plus, news reports don't tend to give all the details of
the subject, and so he only gets limited information. He does not want to
subscribe to the newspaper as there is little of it he cares to read and
feels it is a waste of money. Thus, I look up the articles that he is
interested in on my computer, as he does not care to bother with it himself,
and then copy the text over into MS Word and then print them out for him to
read. This way he gets more information.
My problem is, when copying the text from the various web pages the settings
vary, and I always have to click the "Match destination...." as some of the
fonts used are not that easy for him to read, and then realign the text that
may be set for 1.5 or 2 spacing. This takes a good deal of time for each
article.
I would like to know if there is some means in Word, to set a default that
will automatically change the font type, size and spacing when it is pasted
into Word so that I won't have to spend so much time resetting the text.
I have my normal default page settings already set up, but, using single
spacing, Arial font size 12, and my choice of margin setting. But, when I
click on the Match destination tab when the text from the web page is pasted
in Word, it will match all but the spacing. I then have to go in a change
the paragraph spacing and then reset all the paragraphs and spacing.
I have looked up all I can on this in the help files, but, can't seem to
find anything that will help with this problem. Any suggestions would be
much appreciated.
