default page setup problem

wally

I am working with Word 2003 in a middle school setting. One of the
kids was working with the computer and changed the default settings (
I think). When I open a new document it opens in landscape instead of
portrait. When I try to change the page setup back to portrait I get
the following error message:

Increasing right margin causes last column to become too narrow in
some sections having unevenly spaced columns.

Any ideas how I can correct the problem?

Also when I log on as a different user, the default setting is set to
portrait. HELP!!!

Thanks in advance for the help
Wally
