Can any one tell me how to reset the DEFAULT page size from US to A4,
please?

Sure - Go to Format> Document, click the Page Setup button, select A4 from
the Paper Size list. Once you click OK to close the Page Setup dialog click
the DEFAULT button in the Format Document dialog & confirm Yes to the
prompt.

Many thanks. I was half way there, I just had not hit the Default
buton to keep it. I am new to iMac and am getting used to how things
are a wee bit different. You are my saviour!

First don't take this wrong as I am not trying to come off as insult.
Its more information.
If instead of using drag and drop method to install or reinstall Office
use the installer instead one of the question it will asked is your
preferred printer setup A4 or US 8.5 by 11.
I accidentally checked A4 and had to go through a reinstall to switch it
to open new pages as 8.5 by 11.
Use Taz's method though it not worth the trouble to do a reinstall.
