How does one change the default photo editor in word to a application that is
NOT listed under tools/options/edit. The only options I have are word or
photoed v3.
Photo ed is selected but the edit funtion is greyed out when rhclk on a
inserted picture.
I have MS Office Picture Manager & MS digital image suite 06 installed.

Unfortunately, this is not possible. Word does not support the addition of
other photo editors, even Microsoft ones.

Thanks for reply. Ok then suggestions as to how to get the edit funtion
working again. As it is greyed out. Photo ed works on its own and if you use
the edit funtion in Fax & Pic viewer. I am trying to work with screen shots
so its not a copyright issue. And I must say I think its DAFT that office03
ships with MS Picture Office Manager but you cant use it as a pic editor in
word...

You'll get no argument from me. I suspect that the issue here is that most
photo editors are designed to deal with JPEGs, GIFs, etc. As I understand it
(or as I believe has been stated here), as soon as you insert a picture in
one of these file formats into Word, it is converted into another file
format. That's not to say the MOPM or some other photo editor couldn't still
deal with WMFs or EMFs or PNGs or whatever, but at present it is not
integrated into Word. I can only suggest that you edit the picture in MOPM
(or your screen capture utility) before inserting it into Word.

Yes and no. On my home desktop running XPPro and office 2k premium. I can
take screen shots & or JPEGs, paste them into word and then: right click on
picture, select edit, photoed opens and one can then crop or whatever. When
finished, where save would sit, update appears, which when clicked up-dates
the change's to the word doc. However on my work desktop XPPro Office 03, as
stated the edit funtion is greyed out...... And to top it all I cant contact
the System Admin as I am the System Admin....

Photo Editor doesn't ship with Office 2003; you can get it back by
reinstalling it from Office XP (as I have done), but it still doesn't give
you the ability to edit JPEGs in Word. Sorry.
