Default project start date

How to change the default start date for new projects? Currently the date
for new projects is defaulting to 9/9/02 for the project start date and for
all tasks. Isn't this supposed to use the system current date for new
projects and tasks?

Ellen,
Yes, new projects should default to the current system date. However, it
might be possible that if your new file is based on a template, and that
template was defined 9/9/02, then that could be the reason.

If you are not using a template, go to Tools/Options/General and make
sure the option to "Prompt for project info for new projects" is
checked. That way, Project will always ask you for a start date when you
open a new project.
