Default report display

I have an oleSignature field containing signature files that I want to
default display null until such time a date is entered into the field
dtmFinal, which now displays "DRAFT" also until a date is entered. That is,
I don't want the approaval signature to display until the final report
approval date is entered. Can someone please help me with the format
settings? Thanks
