Default Review Toolbar in Office XP

D

Doug Archerd

I just installed the Office XP suite. Now, every time I
open a previously created document or presentation, the
application automatically assumes I want to review it and
displays the Review toolbar. This is annoying to me, but
I have not been able to find the way to shut this off.

I can delete the toolbar from the individual document by
right-clicking on it and de-selecting it, but what I
really want to do is change a global setting that will
keep the toolbar from automatically appearing in the first
place.

Any suggestions?

Hi Doug,

It could be due to AdHoc Review incorporated by Outlook if the files
you are opening were file attachments in an email. See if this article
applies:
http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=107

Note the article does not expressly mention the Reviewing toolbar
behavior but it is a symptom of the AdHoc Review properties.
