default save options

David

I am currently considering purchasing an Office 2003 package with a new
laptop, but before committing was looking for confirmation that word and
excel can be set up to save, by default as word /excel 97 versions.
Generally any other PC that I use will be running office 97, and hence it
willbe desirable to set up andy new office package to save as this format
for comatablity.

best regards

David

RESOLUTION;
============
File Format Compatibility
Backward compatibility between Office 2003 Editions, Office XP, Office
2000, and Office 97 (with the exception of Access 97) lets users of all
four versions seamlessly share documents. Access 2003 uses the Access 2000
file format by default.

The above is Improved in office editions
