Default Settings for Viewing .docs

I can't work out how to ensure the default is set to view
all folders and .docs as a List then sort as type. In
other words , i would like my folders to open to the
default of View-List-Order by Type.

Any suggestions?

If you are using Windows 2000, set one folder up the way you want it (View,
List, then View, Arrange Icons, By Type). Then select Tools, Folder Options
and on the View Tab, click Like Current Folder.
