default settings for word

Hi,
I am trying to get the default screen settings for word,
currently I have no header or footer margin when i open a
new document. I only get the header or footer margin when
i click on header or footer or if I open a previous
document with that setting.

Assuming you're in Print Layout view (the only one that shows margins),
hover your mouse over the boundary between two pages until it turns to a
double-headed arrow and you get the ScreenTip "Show White Space." Then
click.
