Default settings stuck at landscape

When a document is opened in Publisher it is defaulting to landscape and my
co-worker's machines are defaulting to portrait. Where would I change the
default for my machine to have the page orientation present itself as
portrait.

Look at your default printer preferences in the Printer Folder. Set it to
portrait.
