default size screen excel

Can anyone help me with the following.

I am trying to change the default window size of a sheet when I open Excel 2008 on the mac. I have tried to find the answer in this forum but have not been successful.

Right now the sheet never fills my complete screen. I have tried saving the default template in the startup folder but somehow this does not have the desired effect

thanks for the help!

Before you save the template, select Windows-Arrange and select windows of
active document. This should size it to full screen. Then save it.
