Default Template Issue

The Wes

I have a user that complains that every so often Word 2007 changes her font
back to the original. Where I work, the default templates are stored on the
user's personal network drives, not on the C: drive. I had a similar issue
not too long ago where an Adobe Acrobat add-in was causing it, but this user
does not have Acrobat. I looked on her C: drive and there was no normal.dotm
in her Documents and Settings folder, but there was one in the Default User
directory. This is not the case on other user's PCs. Does anyone have a
clue what is happening?

If when the user started Word, for some reason, Word was not able to access
the network drive, Word would probably create a new normal.dotm template
with the default settings.

For that reason, it is probably not a good idea to change the setting for
the user templates folder from

C:\Documents and Setttings\[User Name]\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

I actually had thought about that. If Word has to create a new default
template, why would it stick it in the Default User's directory? Wouldn't it
be in the c:\documents and settings\user name\app data\microsoft\templates?
