Default Text Size

Hi,
I am using VEA.
I can't seem to change the default font size.
I click Format->Define Style->Normal->Text to change the font size to 6.
I also add the Shade.

All the text on the screen do change to 6 and all the objects do have shade.
But as soon as I drag a new shape to the paper, the font of the shape is
always 10. It does have the shade though.

help please!

Thanks!

you're changing the document shapes, not the stencil shapes. Shapes pulled
from a stencil have their own formatting.

Meaning I can't do nothing?

meaning that if you want the new shape to use your existing parameters, you
have to edit the shape in the stencil to what you want your default to be,
or, you can go to the document stencil (by way of the file menu) and edit it
there and 'existing' shapes in your document will be changed.

Hi,

Thanks! I think I am getting it.

So, instead of dragging the shape from the... huh... default Shape window, I
should drag the one in the "Document Stencil" window to my drawing.

if the shape in the document stencil has the attributes you want (text,
shadows, etc.), yes you use it in place of the master stencil. When you drag
a shape from a master stencil, visio copies it to the document stencil
first, and then moves a version of it to the page you are working on. The
good news is unless you make some significant changes to the copy on the
page anything you do to the one in the document stencil will be replicated
to all of the others in your document (at least that's the way it is
supposed to work).
