Default view for Document Library

Hi all,

We are using WSS 2.0 for our MS Project Server. In our document
library we have set the default view to Explorer View and everytime we
open the document library from the team website, we always see the
folders in the top level of our document library in ICON view. Can
this be changed to DETAIL view? If yes, anybody can share how to do
it?

thanks and best rgds,

Noynoy

Hello Noynoy,

Steps:

Click on Document Folder

Click on "Modify settings and columns" from left menu

Under Views, It seems to "Explorer view" was set as Default view.
Change to "All Documents" as Default view

Thanks

Hi Chak,

Thanks for the quick reply.

My intention really is to use Explorer view. However, in Explorer view
for the top folder I want the default appearance to be in DETAIL
instead of ICON (when in explorer view right click and select view >
detail)

Hello Noynoy,

Okay, I am not sure how to set to detailed view of explorer in
SharePoint browser. It may be not possible. But here is the workaround
solution:

When you are in Explorer view, your document library mapped as network
drive on your machine. you can see the contents in your windows
explorer.

Steps:

Go to Windows Explorer on your machine, click on "My Network Places"
and look for your Document library name. Once you there, you can use
the regular explorer features (View -> Lists/Icons/Thumbnails/Tiles/
Details etc.)

Thanks

Hello Noynoy,

I think viewing the contents on SharePoint site explorer view (right
click -> View -> List) is convenient comparatively with My Network
Places option.

My Network Places option is more convenient when you copy/move
documents between sites or between your machine and SharePoint.

I am sorry, I don't have any answer for your issue.

Thanks
Chak
