When I open up outlook after installing I get the message "Unable to
open your default email folders". I have diagnosed this problem to be
related to cached mode and the location of the OST file. It happens
when a new outlook profile is created, and outlook tries to create the
OST in "C:\Program Files\Common
Files\SYSTEM\MSMAPI\1033\%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost" when it should really be created
in "%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost". It seems that outlook adds the
file location in front of the usernprofile variable, and even after
changing it, it still gives an error message stating "The path
specified for the file c:\program files\common
files\system\msmapi\1033\%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost is not valid". If I change the
location to include the full path of the userprofile variable it
works.
