Hi (e-mail address removed),
How do i programmatically set the default date format in MSword 2003.?
You can't. Word picks up the default date format from the Windows
settings. There are ways to affect some things having to do with dates.
What, more exactly, do you want to do?

Hi cindy,
Thanks for the reply. The scenario is out product is using word 2003
professional SP1, for word merge . The date value that i m getting from
DB is -- "31 May, 2005", n i need to put the same in the word doc. but
the word shows it in the default date format i.e 31/05/2005. I need
some workaround where i can choose the date formatting..
One more doubt does Word 2003 standard edition support InsertXML() ??

thanks n regards
Manu

In order to give you a really detailed answer, I'd need to know in which
application the data source is, but, generally, you need to set the data
format either in the merge fields, by adding a numerical picture switch,
or convert the data in the data source explicitly to text before passing
it to Word. You'll find more information on my website, in the
"Formatting" section of the mail merge FAQ. After you look at that, feel
free to come back with any follow up questions.

No. Only the professional or standalone versions include XML support
beyond the open/save converters.
