define custom printer paper size

Visio 2003 SP1 in "File/Page Setup/Printer paper" lists four "custom" printer
paper sizes. In my case they initially were all defined as "8.5 x 11 in."
"Custom 1" has somehow been defined as "36 x 93.5 in." I wish to define
"Custom 2" as 22 x 78 in." How can this be done? I have read the help on
"Set the page size; Set the printer paper size" but those instructions do not
tell how to define a printer paper size. They only tell how to select an
already defined printer paper size.

Check under your printer settings, instead of under Visio. That's where the
information is coming from.

Had already done that. Filling in different custom sizes in the printer set
up windows does not work. Visio still uses the initial custom size [i.e.
8.5x11] even though all the printer setup windows show the custom sizes I
entered. This exact same problem was also posted [in VISIO General Questions]

NOT near, future.

Does anybody know a work around?

At http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;293183
I found a work around that worked for me.

Article ID 293183
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, set the custom page size by using the Printers
icon in Control Panel. If you set the custom page size for your system as a
whole, Visio uses the correct paper size.
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
2. Right-click the HP DesignJet icon, and then click Properties on the
shortcut menu.

NOTE: If you are using Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows NT, click
Printing Preferences, otherwise continue to the next step.
3. Click the Paper Size tab.
4. Click More Sizes.
5. Select one of the custom paper sizes next to Name.
6. Enter the custom paper size that you want.
7. Click OK to close each dialog box.
