define keys

I have successfully defined specific keys in Word in order to get letters
with French accents on a US keyboard. Is there a way of assigning keys in
Outlook or in Office as a whole?

Windows comes with fonts that contain accented characters. Use them. You
might also find it convenient to employ an add-in like this:

Brian's response was very useful. NOt only can you use the symbols function
to insert special characters but it allows you to define keys permanently (I
hope) exactly the way the Word does. It would be nice if Office allowed you
to define keys only once for all its programs but for the moment this less
than elegant method gets the job done.

I write english, french , german, luxembourgish, a little dutch and
portuguese... i defenitely NEED a lot of "special" symbols. They all work the
same on any system and software with the ASCII code.
What's wrong using it?
