Define proxy for Project Manager/Owner in MS Project client

Hi Community,

Is there any chance to define a proxy for project managers or project owners
in MS project via plugin or macro (e.g. give read-write rights to other users
in resource pool)? My objective is to establish a simple proxy handling in MS
Project. The PM proxy should be able to access/change the project and to
accept task updates from project members if the PM is absent.
Our tool environment bases on workflows with automatic notifications and a
proxy handling if the project manager does not react in time. This should
work for MS Project too.
Have anybody an idea or a hint how this problem could be solved? How do you
handle proxy issues with MS Project (I think about proactive solutions not
reactive)?

All you have to do is give Project Manager (PM) rights to the projects to the
people you want as a backup PM.

Either the primary or the backup can open the projects. All either PM needs
to do to take control of the project is to do a Collaborate | Publish |
Republish Assignemnts and check off "Become the manager for these
assignments".
