Define tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 Scheduling-Examples

I am trying to get a clear definition of the tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 in
regards to project scheduling. It would help to have a simple example of a
project with tasks for each tier.

It all depends on how you define tier. There is no "clear definition" that I
know of which is standard. For a construction schedule tier 1 might be each
building, tier 2 might be the trades for each building, tier three might be
things like rough plumbing.
