define view not working on all folders

Using Outlook 2003. I was trying to define the default message display view
to include both "to" and "from" fields. I tried the "cleanviews" command
line switch, then applied the view, and it still applied only to the folder
that I was in, it did not apply globally. How do I redefine the default
message view?

Thanks in advance,

Ti

Like I said, that only changes the view for the folder that I am viewing. It
doesn't apply to any of the other existing folders, nor does it apply to new
folders that are created, even after applying the "cleanviews" switch. Any
suggestions on how to change the view GLOBALLY?

That is where you should do it. There is no additional trickexcept for not
messing with View-> Arrange By-> Custom... before making the global change.
Another way to go would be to define your own view with its own name and
apply the view on first use of the folder.

There must be some other trick, somewhere. When I do that it only affects
the folder that I am viewing. That is why I tried the "cleanviews" switch,
which restored all of my views to the default, of course. When I tried to
edit the view globally (edit the default view) for folders, it still only
applied to the folder that I was viewing. Argh!
