Define WBS Code

S

S. Persoon

Hello,

In the Enterprise Global Template I defined a code for the WBS. Now I do not
want to use this predefined WBS code so I removed the code mask from the EGT.
Somehow each time I re-open MS Project Pro the WBS Code is still defined in
new projects I want to create. In the Organizer I can see that WBS is a field
in my Global (+cached Enterprise) and in my EGT as well. Each time I delete
it from the Organizer and restart MS Project Pro the WBS field still exists
in the Global (+cached Enterprise) and the EGT. So somehow I am not able to
remove it. Does anybody know how to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Sylvester.

Hello Gary,

I am using Project Server 2003, so also MS Project 2003.

Sylvester:

For custom fields in 2007, you need to delete them from the Web Interface.
After you do this, you'll likely need to delete your local cache files. From
Start > Run

Enter %appdata%
Navigate to Microsoft\project
Delete both folders

Gary,

Thanks for your reply, but I am using the 2003 version. Can you tell me what
to do with this version?

Thanks in advance,
Regards.

Gary,

Thanks for your reply, but that did not help. I have tried that more than
once. The problem is that the field is not available in the Enterprise Global
Template, but in my Global.mpt. Yesterday I solved the problem with your
reply on the 2007 version. What I did is the following:

1. I first removed the WBS field by using the Organizer
2. Go to Start / Run
3. Type %appdata%
4. Go To Microsoft / MS Project
5. Delete the two folders

That solved my problem. The WBS code is not longer predefined in my new
projects I want to create.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Sylvester.
