Defragging the disk

A relative recently defragged the disk on the computer to free up space and
it's running quicker now. However, when I go to the Properties dialog box
the Disk Cleanup button in the General tab is now gone. Where is it and how
do I retrieve it to do future checks on space used on the Drive C disk? Did
the defragging make it disappear?

I'm guessing you are running Windows XP...
maybe the following articles will offer some ideas.

It's best if you run "Error Checking" (chkdsk) before
running Defrag.

Running Disk Cleanup, Error Checking and
Defrag on a regular schedule is a good idea.
