delay displaying text to screen

I'm experiencing a delay displaying text on the screen, I can type a
paragraph before the text shows up on the monitor. This happened in Word 2k
so I uninstalled and installed Word XP and still have the problem.

Any suggestions?

Either the Graphics or Printer driver(s) need updating is the most likely
cause.
