Delay in starting Office XP apps!

Hi

I recently upgraded from Office 2000 to Office XP.

I find when starting the apps or trying to open word or excel files, an
absolute age seems to pass before anything seems to happen!

I'm using an XP3000 PC with 1Gb RAM and acres of disk space. At the mo PC's
dont come much faster.

So how come my apps seem to take longer than ever to launch??

Thanks

Rob

The first thing to try is disabling AntiVirus software to see if that makes
a difference. Norton AV's Office plug-in can be troublesome.

Is there a difference in speed between using File Open dialog, and
double-clicking?
