delayed scrolling in combo boxes

Hi,

In my combo boxes (populated from a table of about a
thousand records), the user must move the slide scroller
to the bottom a few times before the combo box will do a
live scroll (ie- as the user scrolls, the data scrolls at
the same time, rather than waiting until the user lets go
of the slider). Why is there a delay, and is it avoidable?

Yeah, .. my combo boxes, however, are used to perform a
search, so they ARE the 'categories' used to narrow some
results down to a manageable level. Unfortunately,
these 'categories' are quite numerous.

I will try your quick and dirty method.. thanks for the
help!
