Delaying a task

J

JR Winder

I have an already scheduled task that I need to stop all scheduled work from
today on. The task has no dependecies within the project. But needs the
already scheduled work stopped for an undefined period of time. Basically
my team has run into a road-block regarding this task. So I need to
reallocate my resources to other tasks within the project. Is doing this as
simple as removing the resources from the task being delayed?

Thanks in advance

Hello JR,

I'd use the "Reschedule uncompleted work" command in Tools > Tracking
Update project. Make sure you have the task selected and enter the
anticipated re-start date and ensure you have "selected tasks" not
"entire project" selected.

This will split the task and move the remaining work (and resource
assignments) to the new date.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
