Delegate Tasks to others

Hi, currently our team has different managers of each dept. that collect all
of their team's time worked on tasks and then that one manager updates the
task for the entire team. Some like this method, others do not and want to
delegate it to many people for the same task. My question is, is there a way
that the manager, which is a team member status in PWA, can delegate one task
to different people. So, that many different people can view that task in
their "My Tasks" PWA and enter their time for that task? If this is not done
in PWA, how can more than one person be assigned to this task in the project?
Thanks.

Colleen,

Project Server 2007 offers a team functionality whereby a project manager
can assign a task to a team.
If you are part of the team, you can choose the task in your "My task" view
and can update it accordingly. This may help your organisation to accomplish
your goal.
Hope this helps

Two questions, 1) Can you give me more information about building a team, I
can't seem to find out much info on it. 2) Also, what if they want to
delegate a task to just one person? I gave this project manager access to
adjust anything to do with resources and currently on my test project(I am
testing this so that I know how it is done before I implement on an actual
project) I have only this person assigned as resources for all tasks and have
the other resources that I am trying to delegate these tasks to listed on the
plan as resources, but not assigned yet. Am I doing something wrong, I tried
it in PWA signing in as this project manager and trying to delegate a task
originally assigned to me to another person that is a team member. But I get
the following error: "There are no resources available to delegate tasks.
You either do not have permissions to see the assignments of any resources or
there are currently no resources in the Project Server database other than
your account. Contact your server administrator." Please help. Thanks.
