Delegation - Exchange+Entourage

We are running MS Exchange 2003 with Entourage 2004 but cannot get the
delegation feature to work. I set up delegate access using outlook on the PC
and then add the delegate in the account settings and it then appears as a
user in the account but says 'not connected' and I cannot see any
information.
Has anybody got this feature to work and what is the best way to set this
up?

It doesn't work on a Mac using Entourage.
