hi,
i am a PM who assigns a task to my Engineering Controller. he has his team
and he further delegates this task to one of his team members. when he does
this he sets himself as the lead role and delegates this. now when his
resource accepts AND COMPLETES the task and marks it ask 100% complete, the
task is sent back to the Engineering Controller. but now the Eng Controller
does not have the option to put any further notes as the project server says
that the notes are read only and cant be edited. is there a way for the
engineering controller to be able to add notes to the updated task sent my
his resource b4 sending it back to the resource or the PM? please help

I have not run into this problem before, so I did some research. Basically,
it appears that the Engineering Controller cannot edit the Note on the
delegated task or insert a new Note as well. Apparently, the person who is
the Lead Role on a delegated task is not allowed to edit or append the Note
because the delegated task is "read only" on his/her timesheet. He/she can
view the task, view the task progress, and update it to the PM, but the Lead
Role cannot change the task in any way. The PM, on the other hand, can edit
the task Note or append it as needed. So, it looks like your Engineering
Controller is out of luck. Sorry for the bad news. Hope this helps.

hi dale,
thank you for your response. what you said seems to be correct. but i think
this is a MAJOR flaw in the system and a big limitation. lemme know if they
are changing this in PWA 2007. thanx

Project Server 2007. Therefore, refer to the following blog for information
