Deletd items came back

I have one user for whom every item he ever deleted (he emptied his deleted
items folder daily) came back into his deleted items folder. Over a years
worth. Weird! This appeared to have happened when we upgraded Outlook XP to
Outlook 2003.
I did not think that would possible. Any ideas?

this is caused by an update that backs and and auto resotres the local file.
It takes some configuration but you can alter what is resored.

can be configured. Do you recall a name for this update or feature?

Okay, I have an update on this one. THe user thought they were old deleted
items but in fact they were items that were in Inbox subfolders. It happened
to another user today. All of the items form an Inbox folder moved to his
deleted items folder. The inbox folder was not set to archive or delete.
