You've posted to the Mac Word group & although we'd certainly help if we
could I suspect that your problem is not with Word, it's with Windows. Word
simply can't open a document that doesn't exist, so even if it still appears
in the Recently Used list an error will be reported when you select it.
Post to the general Word group you'll find by way of the following link, but
be sure to specify which version of Windows & exactly what you've done in an
effort to delete the file.
