Delete block?

When ever i try to delete sentence it give me on status
bar..delete block? yes or no....but if i try to delete one
one caracter...it deletes..but when i select the word...or
sentence..it give me same msg...plz tell me how to solve..

On the General tab of the Tools > Options dialog box, make
sure that the WordPerfect options are un-ticked.
