Why does my delete button no longer work while composing emails? If I type a
sentence and want to delete the last letter etc, hitting the delete button
does nothing? All I can do is use the "backspace" button??? Should I reload
Outlook Express? I'm using Windows XP, home edition.

No, I actually back up the cursor in the middle of a word and it still won't
delete anything?

The Delete button deletes what is typed after the cursor. The Backspace
button deletes what is in front of the cursor. So from your description; it
works as it should.

Note that this is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.

Here is the link for the right forum

Good Luck!
Thanks for replying..... I actually move the cursor back in the middle of
a word and it does nothing? It will backspace from there but still no
"delete" capability??? Thanks

Sounds like a defective Del key on your keyboard. What happens if you
open Notepad with a test document, enter a bunch of text, move the
insert point somewhere in the middle of that text, and start tapping the
Del key? Any deletions there using Del key?

Are you composing a new e-mail or replying to one? Are you composing in
HTML format when trying to edit the quoted content in a reply? If you
are editing an HTML-formatted e-mail, especially in a reply, there could
be tons of characters not displayed in the rendered version of the HTML
that you really are deleting. Have you tried holding down the Del key
for a minute to see if something eventually starts getting deleted after
the insert point?

problem.....
