The delete button doesn't work in one Word 2007 document but does in all
other documents. How can I fix this?

Open the document and use SaveAs and select XML format. Close the document.
Then open it and use SaveAs and select doct format. Does delete work in the
document now?

No, it doesn't work. I saved it in XML and then to word document. When that
didnn't work, I saved it just in XML and the delete still doesn't work. Any
other suggestions? I'm pulling my hair out because my work is at a stand
still.

Hi M.J.,

Is it just the delete *key* that doesn't work in this document or can you not edit it at all, including deleting by selecting text,
right click and choosing 'Cut' or 'Delete'?

Are any parts of the Ribbon greyed out?

Yes, it is just the delete key and only in the one document. I ran a check
and it's not corrupted. Highlighting and cutting doesn't work either. What do
you mean by parts of the ribbon being greyed out? I think some are, but I
thought that it meant the option wasn't available. Any other suggestions?
Thanks,

No. If you had Track Changes turned on, material would be marked for
deletion but not actually deleted. Depending on how it was "marked," you
might not see any difference at all unless you switched from Final Showing
Markup to Final view.
