Delete entire word document

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel I am trying to delete a Word document. There is no option for delete under any tab. I cannot drag it into the trash basket. I've used Word for years but with a PC and never had this problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.

As a function of the Mac OS you cannot delete or rename files from within
the Open or Save As dialogs. You must execute those operations from a Finder
window. From there you can use Command+Delete, Control/Right-Click & choose
Move to Trash, or drag the file to the Trash Can.

Can't be done that way on a Mac. The Open dialog is to open files, not delete
them. The Save dialog is to save files, not delete them. That's how it is.
That's how it has always been. I suspect that Apple is not going to change
this.

If you want to delete a file, use the Finder or any of the myriad
Finder-replacement apps.

Ahem, ever since Word 6 ...

But it's academic now. ;-)

Yes I use it and wouldn't be with out it. you can set up default folders
for specified applications.
