delete files from "open a document" in Word?

C

Cecilia

Does anybody know how (or if it even is possible) to
delete the documents that are shown under the "open a
document" menu to the right when you start Word in XP?

(The menu works like a "recent documents" menu, but I
cannot find a way to delete the links to the files that I
recently used.)

Thanks!

Choose Tools - Options - General, and turn the Recently used file list OFF,
click OK. Then turn it back on... Now, turn the New Document task pane off,
and then back on. The list of documents should now have been cleared. This
also clears the list under the File menu.
