In Wndows Excel you can select a group of cells and just hit delete,
is there a way to do this in Office 2004? You seem to only be able to
delete the contents of the first cell selected. I don't want to hit
the control click to get the menu to then clear contents.....would
preferr just one key stroke.

On an extended keyboard you can type the forward delete. With a
Powerbook, Fn-Delete works.

Neither of these really deletes the cells (i.e., moving the remaining
rows up, or columns to the left). Rather they clear the contents of the
cells, which can also be done with CTRL-b.

If you want to actually delete the cells, you can, unlike in WinXL,
assign nearly any keyboard shortcut you want. Choose
Tools/Customize/Customize Keyboard... Navigate to the Edit category, and
the Delete command, type in whatever shortcut you want in the Press new
shortcut key input box, then click Add.

Of course, you could use the same method to change the Clear Contents
(or even Clear All) command's shortcuts.
