Delete future recurring tast

I have a task that recurs monthly. I want to permanently delete it so it
doesn't recur. Once I open one of the recurrances, clicking on
the"Recurrance" to open it, the "Remove Recurrance", it won't let me select
the "Remove Recurrance". What am I doing wrong?

Delete by opening it - you should then get a prompt - to open either the
series, or just this occurence. So open the *series*, and then delete
it.

When I open the "task" it doesn't as to open the series or just this
occurence. And when I delete it, it doesn't ask if I want to delete the
series or just the occurence. Any further suggestions

Open the Task, click the Recurrence button, and then click Remove
Recurrence.

(It would help if you tell us what version of Outlook you are using).
