Delete Key Problem

I am having problems with the delete key. If I highlight text and then press
the delete key to delete it, I am then asked in the bottom left hand corner
whether I want to delete. I then have to press "Y" or "No" to confirm.

How do I stop this?

It is driving me mad!

Uncheck both options that have Word Perfect in their descriptions.
