Delete key

when I block something and hit the delete key, I get a
message in the lower left part of the page "Delete (y)n?

I have never had this until I downloade the new XP fix.
How do I get rid of the message?

In Word, click on Tools | Options | General | uncheck the two boxes for
WordPerfect help and navigation | OK.
