delete key

My delete key is acking like a backspace key. Instead of
deleting the letter to the right of it, it is
backspacing. I have a grandaughter that messes with the
set up and end up with all kinds of problems. How do I
straighten up "delete"?

Open Tools | Customize and click the Keyboard... button. Select any command
(it doesn't matter, since you're just testing) and press the Delete key in
the "Press new shortcut key" box. Look at what is listed for "Currently
assigned to." The correct answer would be EditClear. If it's something else,
find that command and unassign the Delete key. Failing that, go to EditClear
and assign the Delete key to it.
