Delete large amounts of email in Outlook 2003

Hi everyone,

We have a mailbox we use for large amounts of email (mostly junk mail) and
I clean it out once a day. Since I upgraded to Outlook 2003, I can't
shift-delete over 3000 messages (give or take). In Outlook XP I never had
a problem. Any workarounds known?
