Delete multiple slide masters in Powerpoint 2007

How do I delete multiple slide masters.
I created only one and somehow I now have 28 masters one for each page. I
only want one master and need to delete the rest. Delete option is faded out
when I click on slides 2, 3, etc. Desperately need help!!

All but the top "Master" are probably Layouts. You can only delete layouts
that are not used in the presentation.

Am reading your reply to a previous question regarding multiple slide master
and hope you can help me with my query?

How do I then ensure that the layout contains the same details as the slide
master? I have a strapline on the bottom of the master slide and this is not
being replicated in the other Layout Masters?
