delete odd number footer in separate sectionwithout affecting whole doc.

The footer in a separate section says "Same as Previous" in the
definition box.
I have no idea how this happened or how to change this.

This means
if I delete the footer in Section 2, all the odd numbered footers
in section 1 are deleted as well, along with the page numbers
that were there.

You can disable "Same as Previous" in the Formatting Palette. Make sure the
Formatting Palette is visible, then place the cursor in the footer section.
The Header and Footer section of the Formatting Palette has an option
labelled "Link to Previous" which you will have to disable.
