Delete Pop Up Box

Often this scenario happens when working with OneNote on my PC.

I am working on OneNote - an embedded attachment has the focus in OneNote
when I then switch to another application on my PC - say Excel. Often this
application is on another screen as I have a dual screen PC.

A few seconds into working on Excel ( or another app ), the focus switches
back to OneNote - and within OneNote the attachment which previously had the
focus when I switched away from OneNote now has the focus once again.

If I am pressing the delete button at this time, intending to delete
something in Excel, I often will not have noticed that OneNote has the PC
focus, as I am looking at the Excel app. I will therefore find that I delete
the OneNote attachment which has the focus. I can then find myself still
working on Excel, and without my knowledge something has been deleted from
OneNote without my knowledge.

Clearly this could be a combination of display or PC specific settings - I
really have no idea, although I have checked everything that I can think of.

One solution is to have a pop up dialogue box which would ask the 'are you
sure' question whenever an embedded attachment is deleted from OneNote. This
functionality, however, does not seem to exist.

Is there any other solution that is out there ?

Thanks in advance for any help out there.
