Delete Resource who left the Company

Hello guys.

Recently I've been having this issue: Since my Company is so big, I'm not
aware of who's being fired or leaving the company and some of those people
used to be Project Server users. When they tell me to reassign their license
to somebody else it's too late to remove the permissions or change the
Account Status of the user who left the company because it's not on the
Active Directory anymore; I get the message: "The resource could not be saved
due to the following reasons:
The NT account specified is invalid. Check the spelling of the user name,
verify that a valid domain name was included, and check that a duplicate
domain was not used."

For that reason the license remains assigned to him and if I add the new
user, then I have two licenses. On the other hand I can't delete the
resources because they owned Projects and Tasks and I would lose historical
information.

What should I do with this resources?

Why don't you do the following:

1. Open the resource for editing in the Enterprise Resource Pool
2, Double-click the resource's name to open the Resource Information
dialog.
3. On the General page, delete the resource's Windows Account information.
4. Click the OK button to close the dialog.
5. Save the edited resource.

When you remove a resource's Windows Account information, the system retains
the resource in the Enterprise Resource Pool, but removes the resource's
User account in PWA. At this point, you have the additional option to set
the resource to Inactive status as well. Hope this helps.

Hi Dale.

Your help is as valuable as always. I followed your instructions and it
worked, but I had to do a variation: instead of deleting the Account I only
inactivated the user (when I deleted the account and tried to save the
changes I got the same error and wasn't able to save the changes).

THHHAAANNKK YOU!
